Easy and Accessible Encryption for any Organisation

SmartEncrypt is a SaaS encryption solution for SMBs that provides certainty that your company data is protected in the event of a data breach, file access, or data theft.
A solution that provides guaranteed certainty that your data will be protected against all imminent and developing cyber security risks. Protects against data loss from insider threats – 85% of employees admitted to taking company documents when they left a business. In a survey by Osterman Research, 69% of organisations cite data loss when an employee leaves. Often, this data is highly sensitive, such as proprietary code, customer and prospect information. In some cases, employees may not intentionally take data out the door, but often, malicious intent is involved. Departing employees, contractors, service providers and temporary workers are all threats to an organisations data security.
Disk and volume level encryption has it’s place. If an organisation has a number of employees who are constantly on the move, then disk level encryption is very useful. But it is limited to protecting data if you lose your device. that is to say, if you leave your storage in a taxi, or a cafe, or have it stolen, then chances are, your data is safe. It does NOT help for malicious or accidental insider threats, advanced persistent threats, malware, and is certainly not helpful for cloud based data.
Not all data is equal and not all users are either. File level encryption allows an organisation to implement tight controls on what data is encrypted and who has access to it. Access can be based on sensitivity, need, authority, or whatever the organisation deems appropriate. It is generally transparent to the end user. It certainly helps mitigate the risk of ransomware gangs exfiltrating data and using it to extort the victim(s).
Good file level encryption solutions help organisations reduce the risk
It also protects both unstructured and structured data, implements the restriction of administrative privilege to sensitive data and helps organisations address areas of a compliance and regulatory nature such as CPS 234, PCI DSS, PDPA and many more.
The difficulty for organisations is making that process easy. SmartEncrypt solves that problem too.
Protect your organisation from unauthorised access & elevate your cybersecurity posture with minimal business impact!
SmartEncrypt uses AES256 bit encryption.
From Microsoft office documents to CAD files, SmartEncrypt has one of the widest file type support for enterprise file level encryption products on the market. This goes beyond local machines, file servers and SharePoint and extends into SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams.
Encryption rules, keys and user/group management are controlled from the SmartEncrypt cloud based console. While encryption tasks and access are controlled locally by small foot print agents installed on the local machines, on or off the network.
Users can ad hoc encrypt documents and share to outside users, sending a PIN separately to the recipient for decryption. This ads a layer of protection to files in transit against man in the middle attacks and sending to the wrong recipients by mistake.
Encryption and decryption rules can be granted at user and group level with all devices running the SmartEncrypt agent registered within the administrative console.
Businesses can assign rules to an encryption key, enabling encryption on specified shares or folders and enforce encryption on all existing data within those locations. Any files created, moved or copied to those locations will be automatically encrypted, seamlessly to the end user. Anyone who attempts access to those files and is not assigned the corresponding encryption key for that rule , will fail the attempt. SmartEncrypt allows a business to assign different encryption keys to different users and or groups allowing you to give access to sensitive data at just the right level.
SmartEncrypt is available through Technology Service Providers who join the SmartEncrypt Partner Program.

Files are encrypted with industry-standard AES 256-bit encryption, using company-created 32-byte encryption keys. Without the correct encryption key, file content cannot be viewed. Users must first successfully authenticate to receive the necessary encryption key to interact with encrypted files.
SmartEncrypt encrypts and decrypts files transparently and in real-time with no change to the user experience. To access encrypted files, users can simply double click on an encrypted file icon or browse to and open files from the associated application. The client software will automatically decrypt the file before opening it without users having to worry about the cryptographic process behind it.
SmartEncrypt has no file size limitations and is file-type agnostic. The smallest text files and the largest specialist image files can all be protected using SmartEncrypt file encryption, regardless of the software used to create and edit the file.
SmartEncrypt does not access any customer data. Because SmartEncrypt is a Data Protection as a Service solution rather than a cloud storage provider, it never transmits or stores your files. You have full control of your data and encryption keys to access data are only made available to users after successful authentication.
Single Sign-On can be configured for use with the SmartEncrypt desktop client and Azure Active Directory. This will allow users to log in to their device and not be prompted for a username and password for SmartEncrypt to decrypt the files.
